BOL DEMOCRATIC CAUCUS STATEMENT ON PROPOSED FEDERAL ABORTION BAN.
White Plains, NY -- The political climate in America has reached a fever pitch in the latest assault on women’s reproductive rights. To have a federal abortion ban introduced by Senator Lindsey Graham, a person who will never have to personally choose whether or not to terminate a pregnancy, is evidence that conservative politicians will stop at nothing to regulate women and their choices. The decision to carry a baby to term or not should be a personal, private matter and not dictated by the government.
It is further evident that we need strong federal action that codifies and protects access to reproductive healthcare, while the congressional Democrat leadership is still in control.
