NY-17, Sept. 15…Assemblyman and congressional candidate Mike Lawler has released his first television advertisement in his race against Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney, chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (A.K.A. Nancy Pelosi’s campaign manager), the Lawler for Congress campaign today announced. NY-17 is one of the most closely watched races in the nation, with two recent polls showing Lawler leading Maloney by two and four points, respectively. Real Clear Politics rates the race a “tossup.” 

The 30-second spot, called “Fire Maloney,” is airing throughout the 17th Congressional District which includes all or parts of Rockland, Westchester, Putnam, and Dutchess counties. The ad buy is “significant,” the Lawler campaigns reports. 

“Crime and inflation under limousine liberals Sean Maloney and Nancy Pelosi have skyrocketed, and beleaguered New Yorkers are in desperate need of relief from their terrible decision making in Washington,” Mr. Lawler said. “Maloney and Pelosi don’t feel the effects of inflation, middle class tax hikes, and no-cash-bail like the rest of us do, and that clearly puts them out of touch with the average New York family. Working- and middle-c;ass New Yorkers literally can’t afford another Maloney-Biden-Pelosi term.” 

The tight race in NY-17 has prompted Rep. Maloney to unleash an expensive flurry of false, negative television attacks on Mr. Lawler’s positions, despite Mr. Lawler’s record of being one of the most bipartisan legislators in the State Assembly.
