MTA Announces Memorial Day Weekend Service Plan.
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) announced service details for the upcoming Memorial Day weekend. The Long Island Rail Road (LIRR), Metro-North and Staten Island Railway will supplement early Friday afternoon service with additional trains to help New Yorkers get an early start on the three-day weekend. For Memorial Day, Monday, May 30, New York City Transit (NYCT), LIRR, and Metro-North will run on a weekend/Sunday schedule. As a reminder, the LaGuardia Link Q70 bus, with connections to the LIRR from Woodside Station and the 7, E, F, M and R subway lines from the Jackson Hts-Roosevelt Av station, is fare free to and from LaGuardia Airport, until further notice. Customers are advised to check any of the MTA’s multiple communications channels listed below before traveling.
