A “DAY AT PLAYLAND FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITES”

Over 10,000 Residents to Enjoy a Full Day of Fun and Free Rides at Playland Park.

(White Plains, NY) – Over 10,000 people will enjoy the 44th Annual “Day at Playland for People with Disabilities,” this Friday, July 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Playland Park in Rye. The annual event offers free, unlimited rides for people with disabilities, their family members and caregivers. The event is sponsored in part by The Institute of Applied Human Dynamics, Inc. (IAHD) who will provide breakfast and lunch for Verizon volunteers. Westchester County Executive George Latimer, the Office for People with Disabilities and the Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation invite those who have registered to come out to Playland for a full day of fun.

Latimer said: “I am excited to be a part of this special day, which gives people with special needs the opportunity to enjoy Playland with their families – just like everyone else.”

Director of the Office for People with Disabilities Evan Latainer said: “It is an honor to be here today, and be part of another wonderful Day at Playland for People with Disabilities providing our residents and their families with a day of fun and excitement. We look forward to continuing our mission in reaching out to everyone throughout Westchester County.”

Verizon, Westchester Disabled on the Move, The Miracle League of Westchester, United States Census Bureau and the Westchester County Department of Public Works & Transportation all participated in the event.
