During the Weekly Westchester Briefing:
- New Castle Supervisor Victoria Tipp discussed matters concerning New Castle.
- Department of Consumer Protection Director James Maisano addressed the efforts of County Consumer Protection to combat construction scams. He outlined practical steps residents can take to protect themselves, such as verifying licenses, ensuring contractors have insurance and obtaining a written contract. Most importantly, Maisano emphasized the importance of avoiding contractors who offer quick and cheap fixes.
- Solid Waste Commission Executive Director Peri Kadanoff discussed the Solid Waste Commission welcoming women-owned Monti’s Haulers, LLC as first business accepted into new small business incentive pilot program. The new program removes financial barriers for small businesses to get into the County hauling market.
- The Westchester County Health Department officials detailed how their inspectors are getting ready for summer by making sure the pools and beaches are safe.
