Girls Inc. of Westchester County today announces the appointment of two new members to the board of directors, Brittany Cowans and Michelle Grzan. This brings the number of board members to seventeen.
"I could not be more excited to have Brittany and Michelle join our GIWC board," noted Fiona Bruder, Chair of the Board of Directors for Girls Inc. of Westchester County. "Each brings a unique set of qualities and skills but all fully aligned in their passion and dedication to the GIWC mission and creating opportunities to enable and empower the Girls we serve."
We are proud of the process that Girls Inc. of Westchester County has undergone to find these highly qualified new members. We are confident they will enhance our board leadership and that their past experiences and enthusiasm to see all girls succeed will help them embrace our mission of Inspiring all girls to be Strong, Smart, and Bold!
Brittany Cowans
Brittany Cowans is a dynamic marketing leader with over a decade of experience in pharmaceutical and biotech sales and marketing. She is currently Associate Director of Patient Support & Advocacy at Iveric Bio. Prior to this she served as Senior Manager, Ophthalmology Marketing at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Marketing at Regnerson Pharmaceuticals Inc. She is skilled in the development of comprehensive strategic marketing initiatives and is highly analytical and data-literate.
In 2020, she was awarded the VEEVA Communicator Award for her advocacy efforts. She was selected to the Emerging Leader cohort in Women of Color in Pharma’s (WOCIP) inaugural Global Leadership Accelerator program. Most recently, she completed a year-long Council of Urban Professionals Fellowship. Brittany's commitment to advocacy is endless. She is highly passionate about equity in higher education. A proud graduate of Spelman College, she represents her alma mater at college fairs as a certified alumna ambassador. She is an active member of the United Negro College Fund's Inter-Alumni Council (IAC) and is chair of signature fundraising event. Also a member of the Bergen-Passaic Chapter of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women.
