REGISTER FOR HILLTOP HANOVER FARM’S TOMATO MASTERCLASS.
(Yorktown Heights, NY) – Take your tomato-growing to the next level and register for Hilltop Hanover Farm’s Tomato Masterclass, three-part series, taking place Saturdays, March 25, June 24 and Aug. 26, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., $20 per person; children five and under are free.
Each class will focus on a different aspect of tomato growing:
· Class I: Covers the hands-on steps to successful planning, seeding, transplanting and early-life care.
· Class II: Learn proper care for tomatoes by visiting various parks of the farm for trellising, pruning and pest management techniques.
· Class III: Taste the wide range of tomato varieties and participate in a Q&A to learn more about the process; great for tomato lovers of all ages.
Westchester County Executive George Latimer said, “Growing and harvesting your own vegetables is not only an enjoyable hobby, but a great skill to have. I’m excited that Hilltop Hanover is offering this program to residents.”
Westchester County Parks Commissioner Kathy O’Connor said, “The staff at Hilltop Hanover Farm are extremely knowledgeable, and participants of this Masterclass will leave with an amazing set of new skills.”
Classes may be taken independently; registrants of all three classes will receive a $10 farm stand voucher upon completion of the series. All ages are welcome; children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a participating adult.
