The Daughters of Liberty’s Legacy together with the Valhalla American Legion Auxiliary will be commemorating the four heroes of World War II and remembering the 670 lives lost.

Four United States Army chaplains gave their lives to save military personnel as the troop ship SS Dorchester sank in the icy North Atlantic during the early morning hours of February 3rd, 1943, after being torpedoed by a German submarine off Newfoundland. There will be a presentation, video, candle lighting ceremony and light refreshments.
