NORTH CASTLE MAN SENTENCED TO 15 YEARS IN STATE PRISON FOR ENGAGING IN SEXUAL CONDUCT WITH A CHILD.
WHITE PLAINS, NY – Westchester County District Attorney Miriam E. Rocah announced that North Castle resident Jorge Lazo Achahui, 44, was sentenced on November 1, 2022, to 15 years in state prison, with 20 years of post-release supervision, for engaging in sexual conduct with a child. The defendant will also be required to register as a sex offender after completing his prison sentence.
On September 28, 2022, the defendant pled guilty to Course of Sexual Conduct in the First Degree, a violent felony, for subjecting the 12-year-old victim to sexual intercourse multiple times between March 2020 and July 2020.
The North Castle Police Department arrested the defendant on February 6, 2021, following their investigation, which was conducted with assistance from the District Attorney’s Office, the Westchester County Department of Laboratories and Research, and the New York State Police Crime Laboratory System.
The case was before Judge Susan Cacace in Westchester County Court, and was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Charlotte Gudis of the Special Prosecutions Division.
