(White Plains, NY) This November, Westchester residents, and all residents statewide, have the opportunity to vote on Proposition 1: New York’s Clean Water, Clean Air and Green Jobs Environmental Bond Act. If passed, the proposal would allow New York State to borrow up to $4.2 billion dollars slated to be used to improve and restore New York’s natural resources while reducing climate change impacts.
As a part of the Democratic process, County Executive George Latimer is urging residents to remember to “Flip it Over” and look at both sides of their ballot when voting this November.
If the referendum passes, the $4.2B Bond Act will fund restoration and flood risk reduction, climate change mitigation, open space land conservation and recreation and water quality improvement and resilient infrastructure.
