Diwali or Deepawali, the New Year celebration observed by many South Asian communities, is part of a five-day festival of lights. This joyous occasion has grown from religious traditions to become a holiday celebrated worldwide, and Westchester County is no different.
On behalf of the entire Board of Legislators, we’d like to wish all who observe a happy Diwali. May the shadow of negativity be cast away by the lights of Diwali, ushering in good fortune, happiness, and prosperity.
