“Sean Patrick Maloney wants Hudson Valley commuters to pay an extra $23 every time they drive into Manhattan south of 60th Street. 

“He doesn’t care that the tax is regressive — hurting working class families most — or that Rockland and Dutchess County families have little viable train service; or that nurses, police officers, firefighters, and others commute in the middle of the night; or that a congestion pricing tax will divert truck traffic into areas with some of the highest asthma rates in the country; Maloney simply wants more taxpayer dollars so he can spend them instead of us. 

“Mr. Maloney seems to have no idea that middle- and working-class families are struggling with the highest inflation in 40 years and some of the highest taxes in the nation. Even the so-called Inflation Reduction Act ended up being another middle-class tax increase. 

“This is what happens when you live in the Washington Bubble and forget the people who sent you to Congress.”
