June 12, 2022 (1:00pm –3:00pm)
Historic Miller House, 140 Virginia Rd., North Castle
Flag Day is a special day for Americans to reflect on our freedoms and the principles of our great nation for which the flag stands: liberty, unity, justice, and sacrifice.
Colonial troops fought under many different flags during the American Revolution with various symbols—rattlesnakes, pine trees, eagles—and slogans. Learn about the history and iconography behind the American regimental flags of the diverse groups who fought for independence during the Revolutionary War. There will be a ceremonial raising of the flag with musket salute. Then pick up a flag and join the flag parade, music, re-enactors, muskets, light refreshments. Guided tour of Miller House with “Ann Miller” included.
