Westchester Insider: Westchester County: County Executive George Latimer Statement on Black History Month 2022.

County Executive George Latimer Statement on Black History Month 2022.

“Our nation marks each February as a month to honor, recognize and learn from the history of African-American culture. Westchester is home to rich African-American history itself, notably seen on the County’s African-American Heritage Trail. Sadly, we know that history includes injustices too large to be ignored. In Westchester, community groups countywide will be holding events to celebrate Black History Month - many of which I will participate in – with many friends and neighbors. I encourage you to attend one of these ceremonies, learn something new and carry that newfound level of knowledge and understanding with you each month – not just February.”
