WESTCHESTER COUNTY RELEASES THIRD PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT IN SUICIDE AWARENESS MONTH CAMPAIGN.
A Focus on Westchester County’s Senior Citizens and Mental Health.
(White Plains, NY) –
Upholding Westchester County’s Commitment
to suicide prevention, awareness and the importance of overall mental
health, Westchester County Executive George Latimer, the Department of
Community Mental Health (DCMH) and several
community partners launched a month-long Suicide Prevention and
Awareness Campaign. The month-long campaign, which includes a series of
public service announcements (PSA’s), was created to help educate
Westchester County residents on the appropriate ways to
discuss mental health crisis in identified communities, and the
resources available to them. The third PSA places a focus on Westchester
County’s senior citizens and the symptoms that may signal a mental
health issue, including social isolation, changes in
appetite or sleep or chronic disease.
