Dear Friends and Neighbors,

The Board of Legislators is proud to announce the unveiling of our new, updated website at www.westchesterlegislators.com.

The new site features dramatically simplified navigation and quick-to-open menus to help residents more easily find our most-requested information: like how to identify your legislator and information about the board's history and the role of county government.  

The new design also provides simpler ways to find things such as the calendar of our meetings.

For the first time, the board's web presence is now mobile-friendly.  That means residents who either prefer to use their smartphones, or who primarily use the internet through a phone instead of a computer, will have access to the same easy-to-use navigation that computer users have.

Finally, this month we began streaming our meetings in high-definition video, with substantially improved audio quality. This will enhance government transparency and openness by literally making it easier for Westchester residents to see and hear their elected officials at work, even if they can’t attend the meetings in person. New video features include the ability to share and embed meeting video on social media.

In the coming months, we will be launching other improvements -- like greatly upgraded search functionality to transform the public’s ability to search the legislative record.  We're also continuing our work to make our online presence appropriately accessible. 

This is all part of our ongoing mission to engage Westchester residents in the work of government using the communication tools available to us in the 21^st century.
