As Father’s Day weekend approaches, County Executive George Latimer, Westchester Resident Ed Randall and Department of Health Commissioner Dr. Sherlita Amler will explain the importance of prostate screenings.
Ed Randall is a longtime New York radio and TV personality and published author. He is a regular contributor to the anthology shows on MLB Network and hosts the Sunday morning radio program "Ed Randall's Talking Baseball", which airs on New York's WFAN-Radio and "Remember When" nationally on Sirius/XM Radio's MLB Network Radio channel on Saturday mornings. He served as the post-game analyst on the commercial telecasts of the New York Yankees on WWOR-TV and is a host in MLB.com's multimedia department. He spent seven years in minor league baseball as a play-by-play broadcaster and pinch-hit as the public address announcer at the original Yankee Stadium in 2008 for the legendary Bob Sheppard.
Randall was treated for prostate cancer and founded an awareness and education non-profit charity, Ed Randall's Fans for the Cure.
Most prostate cancer cases occur in men who are 65 or older. More recently, there have been a significant number of cases of men diagnosed in their 40’s – or even younger. Family history also plays a significant role.

COUNTY EXECUTIVE GEORGE LATIMER STATEMENT ON FULLY AND PERMANENTLY FUNDING THE 9/11 VICTIMS COMPENSATION FUND.
“Unfortunately, the list of those who are suffering from the lasting health impacts from 9/11 continues to grow. These men and women are heroes, and right now they need our support more than ever. I urge Congress to fully and permanently fund the Victims Compensation Fund for 9/11 responders and their families. These men and women never turned their backs on us, and we must not turn our backs on them.”
