During the Weekly Westchester Briefing:
· Village of Tarrytown Mayor Karen Brown will provide updates on key developments and initiatives in Tarrytown and Halloween!
· Entrepreneurship and Innovation Director Deborah Novick to discuss the Launch1000 graduation celebration and showcase event on October 17. Launch1000 has helped over 500 Westchester residents explore their new business ideas, and launch ventures that have created hundreds of jobs here in our County. Launch1000 program alumni are gathering together on October 17 for a celebration and networking event.
· Westchester County Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation Commissioner Kathy O'Connor to discuss the Parks Department being reaccredited by CAPRA, Commission for Accreditation of Parks and Recreation Agencies /National Parks and Recreation Association. In order to keep the National status, departments must apply and submit the updated information every five years. This is Westchester County’s 5th time being accredited since 2003. Westchester County is the only National Accredited Parks Department in New York State, and one of only three departments in tristate area.
· The Westchester County Department of Senior Programs and Services Community Outreach Coordinator and Liaison to the WPPP Foundation Ronnie Cox, will speak about the October 21 Impact Awards, celebrating the work of Commissioner Mae Carpenter and 50 years of service to the Department of Senior Programs and Services.
