Westchester, NY — Two New York grassroots organizations, statewide group Empire State Indivisible and Rockland United, located in NY 17, today endorsed State Senator Alessandra Biaggi in the Democratic primary for Congress in District 17, which includes all of Rockland and Putnam and part of Westchester and Dutchess Counties. The two organizations join three national and state grassroots organizations, Democracy for America (DFA), New York Progressive Action Network (NYPAN), and Progressive Change Campaign Committee (PCCC) in backing Biaggi.

“Alessandra Biaggi has been a fierce champion for working people since day one — and we’re proud to endorse her for Congress in NY-17. As a progressive leader, advocate, and State Senator, Alessandra helped flip the State Senate blue, push through the Albany gridlock, and finally deliver for New Yorkers. Empire State Indivisible was proud to work alongside Biaggi when she ran her first campaign and successfully unseated a corrupt, corporate politician in Albany. Since then, she has delivered time and time again: helping codify Roe, protect tenants rights, tackle climate change and pass gun safety legislation. Now, we’re thrilled Alessandra is once again standing up to a corrupt, corporate politician in DC — and we can’t wait to join her on the campaign trail and send her to Congress,” said Ricky Silver, Co-lead Organizer, Empire State Indivisible.

Rockland United is made up of members of New York's 17th Congressional District united to combat any civil or government actions that threaten our civil rights and protections as outlined in the Constitution of the United States.
