NYSEG public hearing on September 5.

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

For all residents who receive utilities from NYSEG, they have requested a rate increase from the PSC. Below is the notice for the September 5 public hearing about that request being held in the Yorktown Town Hall starting at 6 pm. 

NYSEG’s proposal includes the following regarding financial impact to residents: “Although the actual bill impacts of these proposed changes on any particular customer class will vary based upon revenue allocation and rate design, NYSEG projects that total average residential monthly electric bills will increase by approximately $10.17 (an increase of 23.7% on the delivery portion of the bill or 13.6% on the total bill) and that total average residential monthly gas bills will increase by $1.05 (an increase of 1.9% on the delivery portion of the bill or 0.9% on the total bill).”

This is an important information session and opportunity for citizens to be heard.

In addition, I would encourage any residents who had concerns about tree trimming done by NYSEG to contact my office. Pictures and exact address should be included.  You can also contact us if you have refused trimming in the past, but would like to have NYSEG contact you in the future. On July 12, 2019, a Notice Soliciting Comments and Announcing Information Sessions and Public Statement

Hearings was issued in these proceedings. The Notice described the proposed changes in the electric and gas

delivery rates and practices of New York State Electric & Gas Corporation, as well as the ways to submit

comments in these proceedings.
