Moody’s Investor Service Applauds Westchester County Property Taxpayer Protection Act.

MOODY’S INVESTOR SERVICE APPLAUDS WESTCHESTER COUNTY PROPERTY TAXPAYER PROTECTION ACT.

(White Plains, N.Y.) – Moody’s Investor Service today applauded the County’s Property Taxpayer Protection Act praising the move writing: “ Replacement of nonrecurring revenue with recurring sales tax revenue is a credit positive for the county.”  Moody’s also went on to write in their Sector Comment that: “Many Westchester municipalities have stated they will use the money to alleviate the need for property tax increases in future budgets. […] [A]ny relief for municipalities and school districts will be welcomed by taxpayers.”
